Palm oil in our products
At Against the Grain we do not believe in the destruction of rainforests in order to grow palm oil. We believe that palm oil should be grown in a sustainable way which does not endanger the rainforests and its inhabitants.
We only use sustainable produced palm oil in our products. Our suppler is Aarhus United UK who are founder members of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm oil. Aarhus work very closely with the World Wide Fund to ensure sustainability of palm oil production.
The RSPO has established 'Principles & Criteria for Sustainable Palm Oil Production' which include preserving threatened species and high conservation value habitats.
The organic sustainable palm oil we use originates from South America and not the Malaysian Forests which is inhabited by Orangutans.
Our products comply with the current codex alimentarius standard for gluten free foods and are listed in the Coeliac UK directory www.coeliac.co.uk.
All our cookies are made with made with organically grown ingredients and are certified by the Soil Association
